Everyone see the new song by #landschaft (Grigory Semenchuk Sascha Conrad Ulrike Almut Sandig) to mark a year since the invasion of Ukraine. Based on a Ukrainian poem (Yuriy Gurzhy's Album #ukrainiansongsofloveandhate): angry, tender and truly haunting.

in Ukraine 'bavovna' ('cotton' in English) is the word for when there is an explosion somewhere in Russia. Russian media tries to use euphemisms for explosions (and indeed wars) so as to lessen their impact. There are lots of Ukrainian bavovna memes.
Friends have already asked about the translation too, which in truth is a triangulation between the original Ukrainian and Sandig's German version, with a bit if me for good measure.
