‘I am a double-voiced bird’: Poetry in Dialogue

Ulrike will be reading poems, showing some of her peotry films and will be introducing the new libretto she has written for the classic film Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis (German: Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Großstadt) directed by Walter Ruttmann, co-written by Carl Mayer and Karl Freund (1927). The new version of the soundtrack ‘Gesänge des Funkhturms’ (Songs of the Radio Tower) and poetry for movie was commissioned by the Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur Mainz. and performed by Slovenian musician Grigory Semenchuk and Ulrike Almut Sandig (together the band LANDSCHAFT) in Mainz ealrier this year.
